For many retreats, we strongly encourage a digital detox as part of the experience, and that can be intentionally built into the itinerary. Yes-art is part of the wellness environment here, not decoration and not an afterthought. The two creators of Raven’s Retreat were very intentional about using recycled materials to install immersive, custom-created elements. Master sculptor Dustin Weatherby of SculptDecor and his partner Raven, designed the retreat center to inspire reflection, calmness, connection, play, sustainability, and creative momentum.

We provide a fully stocked kitchen with an oven, instapot, cookware, 2 electric griddles, microwave, a coffee bar with a coffee maker, pour over, coffee grinder, organic fair trade coffee beans, dishwasher, and everything else that most guests need.
We provide all bedding and towels, along with extras for our guests.
The lodge is equipped with Starlink internet and 3 TVs with Hulu Live and Netflix. Starlink is the best internet in our area and it usually runs with speeds over 200 Mbps. Both bedrooms with king beds have desks for people needing to work while at the retreat. Working online from this space has not been an issue for guests needing to stream work meetings etc. Severe weather may cause a brief pause, in service, but we’ve had no problems with it.
Outdoors there is a 24 by 24 elevated forest platform for movement, meditation, and other unique gatherings. There is a covered front porch and a rear covered balcony with seating and tables. Guests can enjoy a stone fire pit with seating for 12, a 6-burner gas grill, a 6-person hot tub, 4-person infrared cedar sauna, and an outdoor shower.
A Tesla EV charger J1772 is available for guests to use, at no charge, in our parking area.
We do not have a traditional commercial gym. Raven’s Retreat offers outdoor functional fitness stations, open indoor floor space and a lage forest platform for yoga and bodyweight movement, and nature-based spaces that support movement, stretching, and retreat-style wellness practices.
Hosts, Raven and Dustin live on the Ravens Retreat property near the Sculptdecor Studio.
Guests can not see their home from the Art Lodge. Their SculptDecor Studio building is visible from the front porch of the Art Lodge. They give guests space by providing contactless check in for their stay. But they are usually available if needed. They are often working in the Sculptdecor Studio, some guests like to stop by to see what art projects are in the works.
They allow guests to initiate interaction and respect that some guests do not wish to interact. They welcome sharing their love of art, creativity, and nature preservation with guests, should guests pursue interacting with them.
Live sculpture performances in Hocking Hills can be reserved as part of approved custom retreats, group retreats, corporate retreats, private events, and special gatherings.
These may include wood carving, ice sculpting, pumpkin carving, food sculpture, or other live sculptural demonstrations based on the event, season, materials, and artist availability.
As a subject matter expert, Dustin Weatherby uses his 25 years of sculpting experience for artistic innovations that focus on creative expression.
Dustin is known for his use of recycled materials, attention to detail, and focus on movement. For sculpting, he often uses metal, wood and mixed media.
Dustin is also a special effects artist and fabricator; he has designed & created over 100 moving sculptures, known as animatronics.
The Sculptor’s Art Lodge has a strict overnight guest limit of 16 and the Sculptor’s bungalow sleeps 2. Raven’s Retreat is an adults-only property. Guests under 21 may only be considered in the case of a full property buyout, meaning both spaces are reserved together, and this requires prior written approval from the hosts.
NB: Guest limits are firm and help us protect guest comfort, the peaceful atmosphere, and the nature preserve.

Many guests work remotely from Raven’s Retreat, and Wi-Fi details are listed on each retreat space page.
Parking details depend on the retreat space and weather/seasonal conditions. All retreat stays accommodate standard vehicles. 12 at the Art Lodge and 2 per bungalow. If you’re bringing multiple cars, a trailer, or anything oversized, message us first so we can confirm access and keep arrival stress-free.
Pack layers, weather-appropriate shoes/boots, and something cozy for evenings. We also suggest a flashlight/headlamp and shoes you don’t mind getting a little muddy because the best moments here often happen outside.
Raven’s Retreat is a nature-based property with stairs, hills, uneven ground, natural trails, and outdoor terrain. The Art Lodge and Tiny Bungalows have steps, and the retreat is not designed as a fully accessible property.

The Sculptor’s Art Lodge contains numerous art installations inspired by nature, located deep within a 58-acre Hocking Hills nature preserve overlooking a ravine. In this two-story, eco-friendly retreat center, expect custom lighting concepts, custom-made countertops, and art from recycled materials. Dustin Weatherby, master sculptor, has designed, created, and installed art throughout this retreat center to create an immersive art experience. Dustin owns and operates SculptDecor, specializing in artistic innovations.
Parking for 12 vehicles or possibly more is available at the lodge. Near the front of the Sculptor’s Art Lodge is a Tesla J1772 Electric Vehicle (EV charger), available to registered guests.
On the lodge’s front aspect, the large covered porch overlooks the 1,600-square-foot Pollinator Garden, where we are working to improve Ohio native biodiversity. Seating and tables can be found here, along with lighting designed to create the lowest level of light pollution.
As you enter the front door of this living art gallery, you will be greeted by a giant salamander wood carving, Sally, sculpted from sassafras.
Next to Sally, you will note a large hand-painted modern abstract mural called the Golden Storm. Many eclectic seating options are available on the left, complemented by a large, locally sourced, live-edge sugar maple medallion coffee table.
Straight ahead is one of our tile art murals — our Celtic tile art installation called The Ailm. This artwork is a custom-built shower space with a local Hocking Hills-sourced and sculpted oak bathroom counter.
The upper level of the Sculptor’s Art Lodge includes a locally sourced, custom-sculpted black walnut kitchen and bar.
This local repurposed walnut wood resulted from a tornado in the Hocking Hills of Ohio. This kitchen is named The Black Walnut Weatherby Kitchen and Bar. All interior cabinets and giant lazy susan are handmade. Three bar stools can be found here. Live-edge white oak custom-made kitchen countertops flow with the modern black walnut kitchen and bar. Two handcrafted dining tables are near the open-concept kitchen, overlooking the living room — one seats 6, and one seats 8. This kitchen is an art project made from recycled materials, incorporating all modern stainless steel appliances including a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave.
In the living room, guests will find metal wall art — hand-forged metal art, a giant wing sculpture above the custom-built steel gas fireplace. This red-tailed hawk wing steel sculpture is named The Hot Wing. Here in the living room, you will also find a giant metal coyote sculpture made from recycled nails and screws named Howling Nails. Several eclectic seating options are available in the living room, along with locally sourced and custom-made live-edge walnut and sugar maple coffee tables. A large smart TV is wall-mounted to the right of the gas fireplace.
Right outside the living room, through the sliding glass door, is the covered and uncovered balcony overlooking our managed hardwood forest and 58-acre nature preserve. Here you can find an outdoor dining space that overlooks the forested ravine. This outdoor balcony space is also where you will find the 6-burner gas grill. The patio below consists of a 6-person hot tub, a 4-person infrared cedar sauna, an outdoor shower, and a picnic table.
Off the kitchen is a laundry room with a Speed Queen washer and dryer — ideal for guests staying multiple nights. Guests will also find a stainless steel utility sink here, a convenient spot for washing extra produce or hand-laundering items during a longer stay.
On this entry level, there are 3 bedrooms and two full bathrooms. One bedroom on this floor has a king-size bed with an attached bathroom containing a tile art mural of the rolling Hocking Hills and the sun in the sky — we call this tile art piece New Beginnings. Within this same bathroom is an extra-wide bathtub with a large window overlooking the hardwood forest. This bathroom features a locally sourced black walnut counter and a custom bat wildlife wood sculpture made of red cedar. This is the largest bedroom on this floor, with a locally sourced live-edge oak desk, an adjustable chair, and a reading nook — well suited for guests who need to work during their retreat stay.
The other two bedrooms on this level have queen beds, and one includes an additional twin bed. All bedrooms are centered on creative expression and sustainable artistry. One queen bedroom features a giant praying mantis on the wall named Manny. The other showcases a giant mushroom lighting fixture called Chanterella growing out of the ceiling.
The staircase to the lower level tends to turn heads — the artisan design of red oak wood stairs with a river stone display leads guests into an art immersion experience as they descend. The lower level carries a night theme. Half of this floor is built into the earth, contributing to the eco-friendly design of the retreat center. The custom epoxy floor is created to resemble nebulas in space. Down the hallway, you will find a stainless steel and copper hand-forged metal eclipse sculpture that also functions as a lighting fixture.
Near the base of the stairs is a pool table with a custom firefly light fixture overhead. Here you will meet Louie, The Lightning Bug — a steel sculpture that hangs above the pool table in front of a large hand-painted foggy forest mural named The Bog.
On this same floor is a 22-by-12-foot open space perfect for art retreats, yoga retreats, meditation retreats, silent retreats, bodyweight workouts, and other fitness or wellness practices. The open space near the pool table can accommodate 16 to 18 yoga mats. Two large windows and a couch allow guests to take in natural light and forest views. This level also provides access to the spatio area — the hot tub, sauna, and outdoor shower. The views from the spatio are breathtaking. Nature truly is the best sculptor.
Tucked into this same floor is a custom-sculpted cave lounge within the Sculptor’s Art Lodge. This cave installation is inspired by Rock House, the only true cave in the Hocking Hills region. The indoor cave art blends mirrors and wood sculpture into an immersive lounge environment we call Rock House in the Lodge. It is the perfect spot for a group to gather, relax, play board games and cards, or watch the large smart TV.
Down the hallway on this level are three additional bedrooms and one full bathroom. Each bedroom features art light installations and custom-sculpted asymmetrical wood headboards with sustainable artwork throughout.
One bedroom has a king bed, a modern desk with an adjustable chair, and a reading nook — designed for guests who want to work during their retreat stay. This room features a metal sculpture from floor to ceiling of a tree named Steel Black Locust.
A second bedroom on this level has a queen bed and overlooks a walnut wood carving of Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve — a three-piece relief sculpture named Dustin’s Conkles Hollow Spot. This room also features one of the most striking nebula-inspired floors in the lodge.
The third bedroom on this level has three twin beds and three custom chainsaw carvings: a bear skull named Hocking Hills Bear Skull, a raven skull named Hocking Hills Raven Skull, and a human skull named Hocking Hills Human Skull. A 40-inch smart TV with a nostalgic gaming console is also found here.
The single full bathroom on this level features a tile mural shower installation inspired by Dustin Weatherby’s Sioux heritage, named Sioux Rain. This bathroom has three doors and is accessible directly from the king bedroom, the queen bedroom, and the hallway.

The tiny bungalows are located on the same private driveway, approximately 300 feet from each other. They are designed for maximum privacy due to the orientation of the bungalows, natural landscape, and man-made barriers.
The entire Ravens Retreat property is 58 acres. Our nature preserve has over a mile of trails that guests can enjoy.
We are working to improve the biodiversity within the forest and are a wildlife release site for The Ohio Wildlife Center and other organizations. Please note that wildlife is being released or reintroduced into our nature preserve due to experiencing habitat loss and trauma.
Bungalows have a kitchen with a range, refrigerator, dishwasher, cookware, coffee maker, coffee beans, and everything else that most guests will require.
We provide all bedding and towels, along with extras, for our guests. The Bungalows are equipped with Starlink satellite internet and an entertainment setup with streaming services.
Outdoors, there is a balcony, stone fire pit, hot tub, and gas grill.
Guest check-in is at 4 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM. In your welcome message, you will receive instructions and an electronic code to unlock the door. This code is changed for every single reservation.
We are working with a Botanist named Jim Osborne, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and Rural Action.
We encourage our guests to use low lights. Green and yellow lights are best to avoid disrupting our nature preserve. We have installed less disruptive lighting in our spaces such as yellow or green.
We definitely strive to leave as little of a footprint as possible. All of our buildings are insulated with premium insulation including multiple layers. Most of our appliances and lighting are energy efficient and we use low flow aerators and shower heads to conserve water. We utilize linens that dry faster and launder easier than most, saving energy and water.
The majority of our construction materials are recycled/upcycled. We install lighting that is less disruptive to wildlife in our spaces. We ask all guests to refrain from wearing or using strong scents/chemicals to avoid disrupting our wildlife and water quality. We use many biodegradable soaps and detergents.
Our goal is to expose others to eco-tourism and to encourage them to consider their own impact as well. Hosts, Raven and Dustin maintain a vegan philosophy guided by justice and compassion. And a plant based lifestyle that focuses on reducing water consumption, land usage, and earth’s resources.
We ask that all guests stay on our trails while in our woods, do not move or remove rocks, logs, or natural habitat. Guests can move the designated rocks and logs at our Functional Fitness Stations located within our woods.
The Art Lodge has a Tesla Electric Vehicle Charger, EV J 1772. We have a 1600 square foot pollinator garden and over a mile of trails throughout our nature preserve.
We are also working to improve our Ohio native biodiversity.
No hunting is allowed. We ask guests to respect all wildlife on the property and avoid harming animals, plants, water sources, or natural habitats.
No fishing. We learned that up to 60% of fish that are caught and released do suffer significant damage, often leading to their death, and not always a quick death.
No swimming. We do not allow the disruption of water in our pond, springs, wetlands, and creeks. There are endangered species being studied here at our nature preserve.

No, we do not allow pets on the nature preserve. We actively protect wildlife, and pets have harmed our wildlife in the past. We also have a resident senior dog, Peanut, who does not do well with other domestic animals. This policy helps keep the land, the animals, and every guest experience safe and peaceful.
Yes, the retreat is designed to feel private, quiet, and immersive. Raven and Dustin (the creators of Raven’s Retreat Hocking Hills) do live within the nature preserve near the SculptDecor studio. Unless they’re scheduled to lead experiences or you’ve arranged to meet, you may not see them. You do share the same long private driveway, so you might see their car or truck pass through occasionally.
We welcome eco-conscious small events that align with the land and the experience (micro-weddings, elopements, intimate gatherings, creative retreats). Event approvals depend on guest count, season, and scope. Reach out with your vision and we’ll tell you what’s possible.
Cancellation policies vary by booking channel and are shown at checkout and on your confirmation. Because Hocking Hills weather can be unpredictable, we often recommend travel insurance if your dates are tight or you’re traveling from far away.
Raven’s Retreat is a nature-based retreat center, so guests are expected to help protect the land, the wildlife, and the peaceful atmosphere of the property. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM. No parties, no unregistered guests, and no activities that put the land, guests, or wildlife at risk are permitted.
Fires are only allowed in designated fire pits and must stay under 2 feet high. Guests should stay on marked trails, respect wildlife, avoid disruptive noise, and follow all hot tub, sauna, fire, and outdoor safety guidelines provided before arrival.

Raven’s Retreat Hocking Hills is an adult only property. The wellness and spa areas are not safe for children. If you seek to bring children, speak with the hosts before booking. There may be an option to bring a child if there is a property buyout but this must be well discussed and approved before the booking takes place.

We ask that guests pile up all used kitchen towels and put them on the washer, hang bathroom towels on the hooks in bedroom and bathrooms, wash or place dishes in dishwasher, and bag trash. Leave all linens on the beds. Please wipe all counters, refrigerator, stovetop, remove all perishable foods.
PLEASE DO NOT PLACE TRASH OUTDOORS. THIS ATTRACTS AND CONFUSES WILDLIFE.
All cancellations will incur a 10% fee, which includes administrative and payment processing costs.
Cancellations for Custom Curated Retreats must be Made 6+ Months Before the Retreat or Workshop Event
Guests who cancel more than 6 months prior to the retreat or workshop date will receive a full refund.
Cancellations Made 3 to 6 Months Before the Event
Cancellations made between 3 and 6 months before the event will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations Made Less Than 3 Months Before the Event
Due to the extensive planning, custom arrangements, and facilitator scheduling required for each retreat, cancellations made within 3 months of the event are non-refundable.
When booking a retreat space only, guests must cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in for a full refund.
Otherwise, to receive a full refund, guests must cancel at least 30 days before check-in.
Guests that cancel between 7 and 30 days will be refunded 50% of nights booked.
