What Is a Nervous System Reset Retreat? (And Why You Might Need One More Than You Think)

An immersive venue for yoga teachers building retreats that feel as intentional as their practice.
You’ve already done the hard work, built a following, refined your teaching, dreamed up the retreat you want to lead. The last thing you should be doing is troubleshooting the venue.
Raven’s Retreat is an adults-only immersive retreat center on a private 58-acre nature preserve in Hocking Hills, Ohio. We host aligned yoga teachers who want their retreats to feel different, quieter, more intentional, more beautiful than the cabin-rental experience that defines most of this region.
This is not a heads-in-beds property. It’s a living art gallery, a forest sanctuary, and a fully supported venue, designed so the experience you’ve envisioned for your students can actually land.
Most yoga retreats in Ohio happen in living rooms with the furniture pushed aside. Ours don’t. Raven’s Retreat offers both an indoor shala and an elevated outdoor platform so your retreat can move with the season, the weather, and the energy of your group.
Inside the Art Lodge, we've devoted an open-floor area we call the Shala - a dedicated movement space for yoga, meditation, breathwork, and stillness. No matter the season, deep winter, spring rain, summer heat, autumn chill - practice continues uninterrupted. Sculpture, natural materials, and intentional design surround the floor, so the energy of the space supports the work happening on the mat.
A 24-by-24-foot wooden platform set into the forest behind the Art Lodge - high enough above the floor to feel held by the canopy, large enough for a full group flow. Sunrise practice here is the kind of moment your students will talk about for years.
4,000 square feet of handcrafted, sculpture-filled space that holds the Shala, gathering areas, workshop space, and shared meals. Designed by master sculptor Dustin Weatherby from reclaimed materials, every detail is intentional. Your students will feel it the moment they walk in.
Over a mile of private hiking trails with 220 feet of elevation gain. Natural springs, a pond, designated forest meditation zones, and functional fitness stations. Mindful movement extends beyond the mat here.
We offer two on-site lodging spaces designed to feel like part of the retreat not an afterthought.
Sleeps up to 16 guests across 11 separate beds. Configurations support a mix of solo sleepers and shared rooms, which gives teachers flexibility in how they price tiers and assign accommodations for their group.
A separate, intimate space with one bed that sleeps up to two guests – often used by the teacher, a co-facilitator, or a couple who needs a quieter, more private retreat experience.
Total on-site sleeping capacity: up to 18 guests across the Art Lodge and Art Bungalow combined.
Teachers often ask whether they need to buy out the full property. The answer is no – a private buyout is an option, not a requirement.
The Art Lodge alone
for groups of up to 16 guests
The Art Bungalow alone
for an intimate retreat of up to 2 guests
A full private buyout
both spaces plus exclusive use of the entire 58-acre preserve, the Shala, the outdoor yoga platform, and all trails (up to 18 guests)
For most retreat leaders, a full buyout is the ideal option. It gives your group complete privacy and undisturbed use of the land. But the choice is yours, and we’ll help you think through what fits your retreat size, format, and budget.
We supply yoga mats and blocks for your group – one less thing to coordinate, ship, or ask students to bring.
We also offer something most venues don’t: full planning support from hosts who understand wellness work.
Raven brings a background in wellness, sleep medicine, and lifestyle coaching. Dustin brings 25+ years of creative and experiential design. Together, we help you shape a retreat that flows so you can focus on teaching, not logistics.
Planning support can include:
Schedule and arc consultation before your retreat
Coordination of on-site collaborators (sound bath, breathwork, forest bathing, massage, NLP)
Pre- and post-retreat wellness support for your group
Custom add-ons like live sculpture demonstrations, guided art experiences, or wild edibles tour
Food is where most retreats quietly fall apart. Teachers either spend their evenings in the kitchen or hand it to someone who doesn’t understand what a yoga group actually needs.
We take that off your plate entirely.
Raven’s Retreat is grounded in plant-based hospitality, and we guide every catering decision so it lands well with your group.
We coordinate with vetted private chefs and caterers who understand plant-based, allergen-aware, and intuitive eating and we’ll match the menu to your retreat’s tone, whether that’s grounding root-vegetable comfort, light pre-practice fueling, or a celebratory final-night dinner.
You don’t pick the menu off a generic list. We build it with you. The stress is gone before it starts.
Raven's Retreat is positioned as a premium, immersive retreat venue - not a budget rental. The property, the artistry, the planning support, and the level of curation reflect that.
We’re a strong fit for teachers whose retreats are priced to honor their experience and the depth of what they offer their students. If that’s you, we’d love to talk.
We’re located near Laurelville, Ohio – one hour from Columbus, two from Cincinnati, two-and-a-half from Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Close enough to draw students from across the Midwest. Far enough that the moment they arrive, they feel the shift.
Old Man’s Cave, Conkle’s Hollow, and Rock House are all a short drive away if your retreat arc includes a guided hike day.
Yes. We provide yoga mats and blocks for your group as part of hosting at Raven’s Retreat. Teachers are welcome to bring any specialty props their practice requires (bolsters, straps, eye pillows).
Yes. Inside the Art Lodge, we have a dedicated open-floor movement space called the Shala. It’s used for yoga, meditation, breathwork, and group practice, and it allows retreats to run smoothly in any season, including winter, rain, or extreme heat.
Yes. Because Raven’s Retreat offers both an indoor shala and an outdoor forest yoga platform, your retreat can move between spaces depending on the weather and season. Winter retreats, shoulder-season retreats, and summer retreats are all welcome and supported.
Up to 18 guests total. The Art Lodge sleeps up to 16 guests across 11 separate beds, and the Art Bungalow has one bed that sleeps up to 2 additional guests – often used by the retreat leader, a co-facilitator, or a couple.
No. A private buyout is optional, not required. Teachers can book the Art Lodge alone, the Art Bungalow alone, or both spaces together as a full buyout – depending on group size and the privacy level your retreat calls for.
Yes, fully. We guide every catering decision and coordinate with vetted private chefs who specialize in plant-based, allergen-aware menus. Teachers don’t need to source a chef, plan menus, or manage food logistics – we build the experience with you so it aligns with your retreat’s intention.
Raven’s Retreat is a curated retreat center, not a short-term rental. We offer a dedicated indoor shala, an outdoor forest yoga platform, an art-filled lodge, planning support from hosts with wellness and creative backgrounds, plant-based catering coordination, and on-site collaborators (sound bath, breathwork, forest bathing, massage). The experience is built around your retreat, not around lodging.
Most retreat leaders book two to twelve months ahead, especially for spring, fall, and peak-season weekends. We recommend reaching out as early as possible so we can hold dates and begin planning support.
We’re located near Laurelville, Ohio, in the Hocking Hills region of southeastern Ohio. We’re approximately one hour from Columbus, two hours from Cincinnati, and two-and-a-half hours from Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
Yes. The Shala, the Art Lodge, and the forest yoga platform work well for teacher trainings, intensives, and small immersives. Booking both the Art Lodge and Art Bungalow as a full buyout gives trainees a quiet, distraction-free environment for the depth of work a training requires.
Tell us about the experience you want to create. We’ll tell you honestly whether we’re the right fit and if we are, we’ll help you build something your students will remember for years.
